BUCKHANNON, W.Va. -- The West Virginia Wesleyan (4-20) baseball team bashed out a season-high 17 hits and 16 runs in a dominant game one victory before Frostburg State (10-21) won a pitcher's duel for a doubleheader split on Wednesday, April 28.Â

Game One (WVWC 16, Frostburg State 6)
Frostburg State struck first in the top of the second and Wesleyan responded in the bottom half of the frame. Tied up 1-1,
Bryson Fluke ripped a single to right field as
Trahern White scored.Â

The score evened again, 2-2 after three innings. Fluke recorded another RBI single in the bottom half of the fourth and turned over the lineup card to
Geovani Sostre, who lined an RBI single to the mound.Â

A Frostburg State error brought two more Wesleyan runs. Delgado lined a single to center as Sostre crossed home plate to cap off a 5-run fourth inning.Â

WVWC added six more runs to the scoreboard in the bottom of the fifth.
Eric Forbrick led off the inning by crushing a solo homer to right center. Sostre drove in another run on an infield single and then a pass ball brought Fluke home for a 10-3 lead.Â

Delgado also picked up another RBI after a right side groundout.
Cade Leach lined a 2-run single to left center as Wesleyan controlled a 13-3 advantage.Â

In his season debut,
Dominic Lough drew a bases-loaded walk in the bottom of the sixth. Grotti drove in
Tyler Ostendorf on an infield single that was followed by a
Cole Shearer RBI sac-fly to round out Wesleyan's scoring in game one.Â

Fluke finished a percent 4-for-4 at the plate with two RBI. Forbrick went 3-for-4 with an RBI while Sostre also was 3-for-4 and had two RBI.Â

Game Two (Frostburg State 2, WVWC 1)
In the top of the third, Bryce Jackson sent an RBI double to the right field fence to get the visitors on the board first again.

Sostre hit the ball sharply past the second baseman into right field to plate
Tanner McCallister and tie the game 1-1.Â

In a starting role,
Parker Tallman struck out six batters over 6.1 innings of work.Â

The go-ahead run scored in the top of the seventh inning when Jack Maruskin legged out a single.Â
