BUCKHANNON, W.Va. -- The West Virginia Wesleyan (5-3) softball team took care of business in a doubleheader sweep of Alderson Broaddus (1-15) on Monday, April 5.Â

Game One (WVWC 6, AB 1)
Molly Osborne connected on a double to center in the bottom of the second inning to hand Wesleyan an early 2-0 lead.Â

Alderson Broaddus answered in the top of the third on a Jordyn Kenneally single up the middle to cut the deficit in half.Â
Â
After getting a run back in the fifth, the Bobcats added three more runs in the bottom of the sixth inning.Â

Brooke Clark dropped in an RBI single to right center while the next batter,
Grace Smith perfectly executed a squeeze play to score
Molly Osborne.
Lauryn King singled through the left side of the infield as Clark scored with the home team leading 6-1.Â

Kennedy Cowart finished 3-for-4 at the plate with a double and Osborne went 2-for-3 in addition to the two RBI.Â
Â
Hannah Hudson (3-0) struck out six batters in her complete game victory.Â
"I thought I worked ahead on batters more today," Hudson said. "My curveball was going and my changeup was working."
Game Two (WVWC 4, AB 1)
A pair of Bobcat errors led the Battlers bringing a run across in the top of the third inning.Â

With the game tied 1-1 in the bottom of the fifth, Clark sharply hit the ball to center for a 2-run single.Â
"I was trying to stay really patient," Clark said. "I knew we needed a big hit in that situation and I didn't want to press. I tried to stay focused and get my front foot down like coach always says."
WVWC added an insurance run in the bottom of the sixth after an RBI groundout from Osborne.Â
Abigail O'Shields (2-2) went the distance striking out five batters while only allowing two hits in the circle.Â
