Baseball Preview: Fairmont State & Charleston

WVWC baseball hosts Fairmont State on Wednesday (April 7) in a makeup doubleheader before travelling to Charleston for a road test.

The Basics
The West Virginia Wesleyan baseball team is set to play host to Fairmont State in a makeup doubleheader on Wednesday (April 7) before travelling to Charleston for a four-game series April 10-11. 
 
Quick Hits
• Eric Forbrick is closing in on the Top 10 all-time in career hits at WVWC. He is currently at 168 and 172 will put him in a tie for 10th all-time at Wesleyan. He is already in the Top 10 for career doubles and home runs over his Bobcat career
• Adrian Delgado hit a walk-off double in Wesleyan's 5-4 game one victory over Alderson Broaddus on Monday (April 5). 
• Michael Maiolo struck out eight batters in his first start of the season on April 5 against Alderson Broaddus.
• Parker Tallman earned his first collegiate victory in game two of the doubleheader against AB tossing 3.1 scoreless innings with four punchouts. 
• Randy Tenney enters his 35th season as the head coach of the Wesleyan baseball program. He has accumulated a 781-602-6 overall record. 
 
Scouting Fairmont State
The Falcons are currently 5-13 overall and 3-7 in Mountain East Conference play. 
 
Jacob Goodnight has been a consistent presence at the plate with .365 batting average to pair with 11 RBI. PJ Lanham leads Fairmont State in home runs (3) and RBI (18). 
 
Phil Caruso is in his sixth season as the head coach of the Fairmont State baseball program. 
 
Scouting Charleston
Consistently one of the top teams in the region, this year's Charleston baseball squad is no different at 17-3 overall. 
 
Braxton Bodorf (.413 batting average) and Tyler Dellerman (four home runs) pace the Golden Eagles offense. 
 
On the mound, Logan Campbell has amassed 48 strikeouts over his first five starts. 
 
Robbie Britt enters his second season leading the Golden Eagles on the baseball diamond.
