BUCKHANNON, W.Va. -- Adrian Delgado's late game heroics propelled West Virginia Wesleyan (3-7) baseball to a walk-off victory in game two as the Bobcats split a doubleheader with Fairmont State (6-14) at Hank Ellis Field on Monday, April 7.Â

Game One (Fairmont State 8, WVWC 2)
Cade Leach bounced a single up the middle to score
Eric Forbrick and tie the game up in the bottom of the first inning, 1-1.Â

After taking a 3-1 advantage in the top of the third, Fairmont State utilized back-to-back 2-run doubles by PJ Lanham and Zach Musgrove for a 7-1 lead.Â

A
Sam Ingram RBI groundout in the bottom of the sixth made the score 8-2.Â

Jake Hakey (2.0 innings) and
Aaron Bradley (1.0 inning) each tossed scoreless frames in relief. Leach finished 3-for-3 at the plate in game one.Â

Game Two (WVWC 6, Fairmont State 4)
The Bobcats jumped out on top in the bottom of the first when Leach belted a 3-run homer down the right field line. An error brought home
Cole Shearer as Wesleyan led 4-0 at the end of the first inning.Â

The score remained 4-0 until the top of the seventh. Vince Sabatino doubled to the gap in the left center to cut the deficit in half. Justin Brown followed that up with a game-tying 2-run homer to left.Â

Hunter Eplin was effective on the mound in a no-decision, going six innings and he at one point retired 13 consecutive Falcon hitters.Â

With
Jake Mauzy on the mound and one out, Sabino lined a single to right field but
Tyler Ostendorf fired a strike home to throw out the runner at home.
Parker Tallman (2-1) entered out of the bullpen and promptly struck out Brown swinging.Â

After a
Nick Grotti single to center, Delgado stepped up. The senior blasted a 2-run walk-off homer over the fence in left field as the Bobcats celebrated a 6-4 victory.Â
