MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. -- The West Virginia Wesleyan track and field program's hard work culminated in several marks being topped at the Mount Olive First Chance & Multi meet on Saturday (May 15).Â

The women's 4x400-meter relay team of
Lauren Leaman,
Maggie Kovalcik,
Caylee Painter and
Faith Gandy shattered the school record by over two full seconds with a time of 3:55.63.Â

Leaman put together a personal record of 14.80 in the 100-hurdles and that went down as the fastest event time in the Mountain East Conference this season.Â

In the 100-meter dash final, Gandy hit an NCAA provisional mark of 11.89.Â

On the men's side,
Devin Taylor registered a 10.70 in the 100-meter prelims with Tanner Faulkiner right with him at 10.71.Â

Austin Gresser notched a personal record by over 0.4 seconds in the 110 meter hurdles (14.84), which is the third fastest event time by an MEC athlete this season.

The Mount Olive Final Qualifier meet awaits on Sunday (May 16) with WVWC competing in the following events: women's 4x100 meter relay, women's 400-meters (Painter), women's 200-meter dash (Gandy), women's high jump (Leaman), women's 400-hurdles (Leaman), men's 200-meter dash (Taylor).
