TEMPE, Ariz. -- Three members of the West Virginia Wesleyan men's tennis team were highlighted in the 2021 Atlantic Region rankings released by Oracle/ITA. The WVWC men's tennis team as a whole finished fourth in the Atlantic Region team rankings.

Carlos Dodero Fernandez wrapped up his season ranked No. 5 in the region for men's singles. The senior from Madrid, Spain earned a spot on the All-Mountain East Conference First Team and was twice named the MEC Player of the Week during the 2021 season.

Harry Simaioforidis was ranked No. 16 in the region for singles. Simaioforidis spent most of his time at No. 2 in the lineup. The senior from Athens, Greece, received Second Team All-MEC honors in his final season for the Orange & Black.

The duo of Simaioforidis and
Taylor Papworth came in at No. 5 in the Atlantic region's doubles rankings. The pair meshed from the beginning and claimed a signature win over the No. 1 doubles team in John Giesberts and Marshall Dagostine from Charleston.Â
