The Basics
The West Virginia Wesleyan women's soccer team is scheduled to kick off the 2021 season at Slippery Rock on Thursday, Sept. 2 at 4 p.m. before visiting Indiana (Pa.) on Sunday, Sept. 5 at 2 p.m.

- Senior defender Natalie Pireu earned All-Mountain East Conference First Team, United Soccer Coaches All-Region and CoSIDA Academic All-District honors after her 2021 spring campaign.
- Sophomore goalkeeper Ally Moore is coming off a spring debut season in which she was named to the MEC All-Freshmen team.
- Senior defender Jadyn Tavekelian continued to be recognized by the MEC with Honorable Mention recognition last season.Â

Scouting Slippery Rock
Slippery Rock did not compete during the 2020 fall or 2021 spring seasons due to COVID-19 protocols set by the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference. The Rock turned in an overall record of 18-4 in 2019 as they claimed the PSAC Tournament title. Slippery Rock edged WVWC 2-1 on Sept. 8 in Buckhannon.Â
Jessica Giegucz enters her seventh season in charge of the Slippery Rock women's soccer program and carries a 63-29-6 overall record.Â
Scouting Indiana (Pa.)
Another PSAC institution, Indiana (Pa.) also did not compete last season. In 2019, the Crimson Hawks finished 10-9 overall.Â
Mahogany Willis, IUP's top goal scorer and All-Region selection in 2019 returns to lead the Crimson Hawks. Indiana (Pa.) was predicted to finish fifth in the PSAC West Division based on the 2021 preseason poll.
The program's all-time leader in wins, Adel Heder enters his 21st season at IUP with an overall record of 212-131-23.
