The Basics
West Virginia Wesleyan (5-10-1, 5-8-1) women's soccer will play its final two matches of the regular season this week. The Bobcats will recognize its senior class on Wednesday (Oct. 26) Â in the final home game of the season. WVWC will welcome Wheeling to Buckhannon for a 4 p.m. kickoff. The Bobcats wrap up the regular season with a game at Davis & Elkins on Sunday (Oct. 30) at 5 p.m.

- The 'Cats edged West Liberty on Sunday (Oct. 23) on the road. The Bobcats played down two players for the final 13 minutes of the game and came out on top. Ava Badallo scored her fifth goal of the season in the Bobcat victory.
- Wesleyan has not played Wheeling in the 2022 season. The Cardinals and Bobcats played to a tie in the 2021 matchup. Davis & Elkins defeated WVWC in the first meeting of the season by a score of 2-0.
- Three points separate the Bobcats and the Senators for the fourth spot in the MEC South Division standings. The final spot is up for grabs in the last week of the regular season.
- Talia Stacy , Kameron Bonneau and Beth Burchett have each netted two goals.
- Paloma Zamora, Chloe Ramirez, Maggie Queen and Ellie Pergolotti all scored one goal.
- Goalkeeper Ally Moore has started all 16 matches for WVWC and has made 84 saves, which is the seventh-highest save total in the Mountain East Conference. Moore and the Bobcats' defensive unit have kept four clean sheets this season.
Scouting Wheeling
The Cardinals begin the final week of the regular season in fourth place in the MEC North. Wheeling dropped a result to Davis & Elkins on Saturday (Oct. 22). The Cards hold a three-point advantage over West Liberty.

Mary DiFonzo ranks third in the conference with six assists and tenth in the MEC with seven goals. The sophomore midfielder from Toronto, Canada was named to the MEC All-Freshman team in 2021. Graduate student Braedynn Porter has tallied seven goals in the 2022 campaign. Fifth-year goaltender Mikayla Yarwood has gotten the nod for the majority of minutes in goal for the Cardinals. Yarwood has notched 107 saves in 16 appearances.

The head coach for Wheeling women's soccer is Emmanuel Awotula, who is in his first year in charge of the Cardinals' women's soccer program.

Scouting Davis & Elkins
Davis & Elkins will play West Liberty to open the week before hosting the Bobcats. D&E is coming off of an offensive outburst versus Wheeling, where they won 8-1.

The Senators' attack is led by the duo of Alexa Karsel and Madison Rose, who both have scored nine goals. Karsel holds a share of the lead in the assists category in the MEC and has distributed 10 assists. The Longmont, Colo. native has totaled the third-highest point total in the conference (28). Freshman Nao Kawasaki has tallied 16 points in her first season donning a Davis & Elkins uniform. 'Keeper Katie Clark has snatched 56 saves in 14 starts. Clark enters the week with a record of 6-6-1.
