BUCKHANNON, W.Va. --Â The West Virginia Wesleyan volleyball team (7-20, 3-10) defeated Concord (6-22, 0-13) on Tuesday (Oct. 25) night at the Rockefeller Center in Buckhannon, W.Va.

Hope Arce-Reed had a team-leading 11 kills.
Mya Bajramovic added eight kills. Senior
Payton Hefner had a team-leading 18 assists and 13 digs.
Autumn Molenhouse added 11 digs.

Inside Set One
After eight possible points, the score was tied 4-4 to begin the first set. Concord took five of the next seven points and led 9-6. Wesleyan fought back to tie the score on a service ace from Hefner, 10-10.

A kill from Hannah Steele put the Mountain Lions back in front, 11-10. The Bobcats fired off six-straight points, including three kills from Arce-Reed and led 16-11. The Mountain Lions scored eight of the next 12 points trimmed the Wesleyan lead to two points. Following a timeout from coach

Concord responded with a two-point run and trailed 22-20. The Bobcats took the remaining three points of the first set and won, 25-20.

Inside Set Two
Tied 5-5, the Bobcats fired off three-straight points and led 8-5. Concord took three of the next four points and trailed 9-8. The two teams each had two separate two-point runs, and the Bobcats led 13-12. WVWC fired off five straight points and led 18-12.

The Mountain Lions responded by scoring three straight points and trailed 18-15. The Bobcats extended their lead to six after a service ace from
Abigail Rogers and a Concord attack error. Concord fired off three straight points and trailed 21-18. The Bobcats took four of the final five points and won set two, 25-19.

Inside Set Three
Wesleyan jumped out to a 7-3 lead behind three kills from Arce-Reed and one kill from Bajramovic. The Mountain Lions fired off three straight points and trailed 7-6. WVWC took five of the next six points and led 12-7.

Concord trailed 13-10 before the Bobcats put their foot on the gas and scored six-straight points to build a 19-10 advantage. The Mountain Lions responded by taking 11 of the next 13 points to tie the score, 21-21. Following a timeout from coach Kate Dillon, Concord took its first lead of the third set, 23-22. WVWC scored the final three points of the third set and finished off the Mountain Lions by a score of 25-23.
