The Basics
The West Virginia Wesleyan men's basketball team is scheduled to tip off the 2022-23 season at the Pitt-Johnstown Tip-Off Classic hosted by Pitt-Johnstown Nov. 11-12. The season officially begins on Friday (Nov. 11) at 7:00 p.m. against the host Pitt-Johnstown. The Bobcats will wrap up their weekend versus Lock Haven on Saturday (Nov. 12) at 2 p.m.

● The Bobcats will look to replace their two leading scorers from last season. Jayden Hibbitt averaged 19.2 points per game, and Braeden McGrew averaged 14.4 points per game.
● Anthony Craven Jr. returns to the floor for his sophomore season. Craven Jr. averaged 8.8 points per game and 4.3 rebounds per game during the 2021-2022 season.
● Perth, Australia native John Ibukunoluwa returns to the Bobcats for his sophomore season after seeing action in 28 games last season.
● Sophomore Tyler Slone would like to build off an nice freshmen campaign where he averaged 7.4 points per game and 3.2 rebounds per game.
● D'Vante Rivera, Jordan Cannon, Jamal Jacobs, Jackson Rhodes, Aidan Glackin, Alec Hilliard, Curtis Litton, Yosuke Yamamoto, and Darius Green all joined the Bobcats during the offseason. Green is a graduate transfer from Cameron University, where he played for four years. Green averaged 4.2 points per game, 2.4 rebounds per game, and logged 19 career starts while at Cameron University.
● Derek Sloan is entering his second season at the helm of the WVWC men`s basketball team.
Scouting Pitt-Johnstown
The Mountain Cats posted a 21-9 overall record during the 2021-2022 season. John Paul Kromka returns to the floor for his senior season after leading the Mountain Cats in points per game (17.5) and rebounds per game (8.1). Joe Batt shot 52% from behind the three-point line last season and averaged 11.6 points per game.
Bob Rukavina is entering his 33rd year at the helm of the Mountain Cats men`s basketball program.
Scouting Lock Haven
The Bald Eagles posted an 11-16 overall record during the 2021-2022 season. DaQuan Granberry returns for his senior campaign after leading the Bald Eagles by scoring 13.8 points per game last season. Eli Washington collected 144 total rebounds and averaged 5.3 per game. Washington also collected a team-high in steals for the Eagles 40.
Mike Nestor is entering his 11th year as head coach for the Bald Eagles men's basketball program.
