WVWC Baseball Drops Twinbill to Frostburg State

Sam Ingram and Jack Tilton both picked up a hit in each game versus Frostburg State.

FROSTBURG, Md. – The West Virginia Wesleyan (0-13, 0-2) baseball team fell in two games to Frostburg State (11-3, 2-0) at Bob Wells Field on Friday (March 18) afternoon.
 
Inside Game One
The home team put up eight runs in the bottom of the first frame. Frostburg State added a run in the second inning to make the score 9-0. Wesleyan responded in the third inning with a run after Hunter Eplin drove in Martin Radosevic on a fielder's choice. Four Frostburg State players crossed the plate in the fifth inning and the home team cruised to a 13-1 win. Sam Ingram, Jack Tilton, Radosevic and Matt Turner all collected base knocks for WVWC.
 
Inside Game Two
WVWC got on the board first following a Devin Johnson RBI base hit that scored Jaylon Robinson. Ingram put the 'Cats up two after a clutch two-out hit that scored Tilton. Frostburg State answered with a run in the bottom of the second and tied the game in the third inning at two.
 
Frostburg State tacked on four runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to take the lead. FSU extended their lead in the sixth inning to five runs. Nick Corwell ledoff the top of the seventh inning with a double. David Sanders delivered an RBI single that scored Corwell. Frostburg State recorded the final two outs in the seventh inning and took game two 7-3.
 
Anthony Napoleon twirled 4.1 innings and surrendered three runs and punched out one. Geovani Sostre poked multiple hits for WVWC.

West Virginia Wesleyan baseball is slated to be back in action on Sunday (March 20) with a road doubleheader versus Fairmont State beginning at 1 p.m.
