The West Virginia Wesleyan Bobcats played the Falcons of Fairmont State University at home in the Rockefeller Center. After coming off a loss the night before to Frostburg State University, the bobcats were looking to pick up their second conference win of the season. The bobcats would lose the match 3-1 losing the first set 16-25, winning the second set 25-23, and losing sets 3 and 4, 20-25 and 18-25.
During the match, the Bobcats were lead offensively by freshman,
Olivia Albrecht, who totaled 10 kills on the night along with freshman,
Emily Denison with 9 kills. Senior
Makenzie Yates totaled 36 assists with 8 digs. Defensively, the Bobcats recorded 16 block assists and 2 block solos. Freshmen,
Bhrooke Axe and
Emily Denison collected 4 block assists each.
Olivia Albrecht and
Makenzie Yates also had 3 block assists each. The back line for the Bobcats was highlighted by Libero,
Alexis Moeschler, with 18 digs.
The Bobcats are set to take on the Golden Eagles of the University of Charleston at home on Tuesday, October 24th at 7pm.
