BUCKHANNON, W.Va. – West Virginia Wesleyan Men's Basketball will be away from the Rockefeller Center once again on Wednesday as they hit the road for a matchup with Concord at 7:30 p.m. CU beat Wesleyan earlier in the season 78-64 in Buckhannon. Concord will be at home tonight against Bluefield State at 7:30 p.m. before they face off with WVWC on Wednesday.
CONCORD MOUNTAIN LIONS
The Mountain Lions enter (12-11) overall and (9-9) in MEC play. CU lost at West Liberty 127-79 on Saturday.
Concord leads the conference in Team Rebounds (42.5 RPG), Offensive Rebounds (14.0 ORPG), Defensive Rebounds (28.4 DRPG) and Blocked Shots (4.8 BPG). CU has had issues on the defense end, giving up 83.6 PPG (9
th MEC).
Daniel Rahama leads the Mountain Lions and ranks 9
th in the conference in scoring at 16.9 PPG. Rahama averages a double-double and is 1
st in the league in rebounding, grabbing 10.1 RPG. JJ Harper is the second leading scorer, putting up 14.7 PPG. Ethan Heller (11.5 PPG) and Jevon Laidler (10.6 PPG) also average double-figures. Heller also leads the team in assists at 3.1 APG.
Todd May is in his 7
th season as Head Coach of the Mountain Lions. May has coached five All-Conference selections and one All-American in his tenure. He previously served as an assistant at Concord for four seasons before being named HC.
WEST VIRGINIA WESLEYAN BOBCATS
The Bobcats enter (2-21) overall and (2-16) overall. Wesleyan fell on the road to West Virginia State on Saturday 84-61.
Wesleyan sits in the Top-3 in steals (8.35 SPG) and Turnovers Forced (15.6 AVG/G). The Bobcats sit at the bottom of the league in rebounding, ranking last in Team Rebounds (31.0 RPG) and Defensive Rebounds (21.2 DRPG).
Darius Green leads Wesleyan in scoring (16.4 PPG), rebounding (6.5 RPG) and steals (2.4 SPG). Green's 2.4 SPG is 1
st in the conference.
Anthony Craven Jr. is the only other Bobcat averaging double-figures, scoring 11.7 PPG.
Kabe Ellis leads the team in assists at 1.8 APG.
