Preview: Wesleyan Travels To Fairmont State For Final Stretch Of Season

BUCKHANNON, W.Va. – West Virginia Wesleyan Men's Basketball gets back on the road to finish the last week of the regular season on Wednesday at Fairmont State, tipping off at 7:30 p.m. FSU won 92-72 earlier in the season in Buckhannon. The Bobcats are seeking their first win against Fairmont since 2012.

FAIRMONT STATE FIGHTING FALCONS
The Falcons enter (20-6) overall and (15-5) in MEC play. FSU lost an overtime thriller on Saturday at No. 10 West Liberty 119-113.

Fairmont features one of the top offenses in the country. They rank 3rd in the country and 2nd in the MEC is Scoring Offense at 94.4 PPG. Their 51% shooting from the field is 9th in the country and 1st in the MEC while their 40% shooting from three is 13th in the country and 1st in the MEC as well. On defense, the Falcons rank 5th in the conference, allowing 81.5 PPG.

Isaiah Sanders leads the Falcons and ranks 4th in the MEC in scoring at 19.2 PPG. George Mangas is 12th in the league in scoring, averaging 15.8 PPG. Mangas leads the conference in FG% at 61%. Zyon Dobbs is averaging 5.3 APG to lead the Falcons and ranks 2nd in the MEC.

Tim Koenig is in his fourth season leading the Falcons program. In his time at Fairmont State, Koenig has led FSU to two NCAA Tournament berths, an MEC Tournament Championship and has coached All-MEC selections as well as All-Region selections. Koenig spent six seasons as the Head Coach at Notre Dame College prior to arriving in Fairmont. He led NDC to their first-ever MEC Tournament Championship and NCAA Tournament berth in 2018-19.

WEST VIRGINIA WESLEYAN BOBCATS
The Bobcats enter (2-23) overall and (2-18) in MEC play. Wesleyan lost to Glenville State at home on Saturday 84-67.

WVWC hasn't forced as many turnovers in the last few games but they still sit T-3rd in the conference in Turnovers Forced at 15.3 per game. Wesleyan remains 3rd in steals, grabbing 8.3 SPG.

Darius Green's 15.9 PPG leads the Bobcats and ranks him 11th in the league in scoring. Green sits in the Top-10 in rebounding at 6.6 RPG and is 3rd in the league in steals with 2.2 SPG. Anthony Craven Jr. is averaging 11.9 PPG and 4.9 RPG for the Bobcats.
