BUCKHANNON, W.Va. – West Virginia Wesleyan Softball heads to Glenville this weekend (Feb. 25-26) to compete in the MEC/PSAC Challenge, hosted by Glenville State. The Bobcats are set to play PSAC opponents Seton Hill, Slippery Rock and Clarion. Wesleyan is looking for their first win(s) of the season after being swept by Catawba last weekend.

SETON HILL GRIFFINS
The Griffins enter the weekend (2-0) overall after two dominating wins against Wheeling last week. Abby Smearman comes in batting .750 with 1 HR and 5 RBI while Grace Parades is batting .800 with two doubles and 4 RBI. Lauren Dellett pitched a complete game shutout in her first start of the season.
Seton Hill is led by first-year Head Coach Cassie Moore. Moore spent the previous four seasons as an assistant at Bethany College. She also had a stint as an assistant at Coker University.
SLIPPERY ROCK
This will be the first set of games for Slippery Rock this season. They are scheduled to play Fairmont State and West Virginia State on Saturday before battling the Bobcats on Sunday. Mackenzie Freeman returns after hitting 7 HR and 28 RBI with an .828 OPS last season. Kelsi Anderson is back for The Rock, finishing with a 2.59 ERA, 9-8 record, 14 complete games and 146 strikeouts in 2022.
Stacey Rice enters her ninth season at the helm. SRU finished 15-22 under Rice last season and she holds a 128-177-1 overall record. Rice was an assistant for five seasons at Slippery Rock before being named Head Coach.
CLARION GOLDEN EAGLES
The Golden Eagles enter (1-1) after splitting a doubleheader with USC Aiken last Friday. Clarion won game one 13-4 (5 inn.) but fell in game two 4-2. Desi Allen is batting .800 with 1 HR and 3 RBI to lead Clarion. Angelina Pepe pitched four innings of no-run ball in her first start of the season and only gave up three hits.
Marissa Pullo is in her first year as Head Coach of the Golden Eagles. Pullo came to Clarion after a successful stint as the HC at SUNY Erie Community College for four years. She played her collegiate softball at Edinboro.
