BUCKHANNON, W.Va. – West Virginia Wesleyan Baseball will face Salem tomorrow and Wednesday in non-conference action as they look to get back on track. The Bobcats will host the Tigers at Hank Ellis Field tomorrow and travel to Nutter Fort on Wednesday.

THE BOBCATS
Wesleyan enters (7-22) overall and have now lost 13 games in a row. WVWC was swept at Institute this weekend in a four-game series with West Virginia State.
Devin Johnson is batting .330 to lead the Bobcats, totaling 29 hits with two doubles, one triple, 2 HR and 21 RBI.
Jack Tilton and
Cole Shearer also have 2 HR. To go with Tilton's 2 HR, he also has 29 hits with six doubles and 14 RBI. The pitching staff holds a 9.01 Team ERA so far this season.
SALEM TIGERS
The Tigers enter (13-21) overall, previously losing three out of four games at home with PSAC opponent Mansfield over the weekend.
Kaden Zacharias is the only Tiger batting over .300 this season, as is he tied for the team lead in hits with 35 and leads the team in doubles (5) and triples (5). Zacharias also adds 1 HR and 20 RBI. Nathan Kuhn has brought a little bit more power, hitting .299 with 32 hits, 3 HR and 20 RBI. In nine starts so far, Sam Schmitt is 4-2 with a 2.52 ERA and 78 strikeouts in 53.2 innings of work. Jaryd Lund has been solid on the mound as well, holding a 3-1 record and 2.70 ERA in eight starts.
J.T. Heenan is in his 3
rd season as Head Coach at Salem. Heenan spent one season as an assistant and recruiting coordinator before being promoted in the summer of 2020. Prior to Salem, he served as assistant director of operations for WVU Baseball and was a graduate assistant at WVU. Heenan was a catcher for the Mountaineers during his playing days.
