BUCKHANNON, W.Va. – West Virginia Wesleyan Baseball hosts Shepherd for a doubleheader tomorrow afternoon at Hank Ellis Field. The Bobcats and Rams haven't met since the 2019 season when Shepherd won both games of a doubleheader.

THE BOBCATS
Wesleyan enters (8-27) overall after losing three out of four to MEC leading Concord over the weekend.
Devin Johnson's .330 average and 24 RBI at the three-hole spot leads the team while
Jack Tilton and
Sam Ingram are tied for the team lead in hits with 37. Johnson and Tilton also have 2 HR each.
Hunter Eplin leads the team in ERA at 5.70 and
AJ Ventry is first on the team in wins with three.
SHEPHERD RAMS
The Rams enter (22-16) overall, previously losing two out of three against West Chester. Shepherd holds wins over MEC opponents West Liberty and Davis & Elkins.
SU has power up and down their lineup, featuring six batters who are hitting over .300 and five who have a 1.000+ OPS. Ross Mulhall leads the Ram offense with a .366 average, 1.163 OPS, 52 hits, 14 doubles, 11 HR and 46 RBI. Cole Daugherty and Connor Dewees are tied for second on the team in HR with nine each. Pitching hasn't been the strong point for the Rams with a Team ERA of 6.61.
Matt McCarty is in his 12
th season leading Shepherd Baseball. While in the Mountain East Conference, McCarty earned MEC Coach of the Year twice and was the Atlantic Region Coach of the Year in 2014. From 2016-18, he led the Rams to three consecutive NCAA Tournaments and won multiple MEC North Divisional Championships.
