BUCKHANNON, W.Va. – The West Virginia Wesleyan Softball team finished the season sweep of Concord earlier today, defeating CU in both games of their doubleheader at Culpepper Field. The Bobcats run ruled the Mountain Lions in the first game 8-0 and escaped 5-3 in game two. Aces

Hannah Hudson added to their win totals, including Stoffel's 18
th win of the season.
Game 1
Kendall Stoffel opened the game up with consecutive strikeouts and ended the top of the 1
st with a dribbler to third.
Taylor Swartz was HBP and
Morgan Norris singled to put two runners on with just one out. A double play put a stop to the bottom of the 1
st. After leading the top of the 2
nd with a triple, Stoffel forced three consecutive outs to avoid any runs being scored.
Kaitlyn Rizor got the scoring started in the bottom of the 2
nd for the Bobcats, singling
Alli Robinson home.
Andie Dizon brought her hot stretch into this week, putting Wesleyan up 4-0 with a 3-run shot in the bottom of the 3
rd. The following inning,
Morgan Norris ripped one to left but had to settle for a sacrifice fly to make it 5-0 after four innings. Stoffel took care of business in the top of the 5
th, setting up the Bobcat offense in the bottom half of the inning.
Kaitlyn Rizor closed the game out early with a 3-run HR in the bottom of the 5
th, run ruling the Mountain Lions to take their 40
th win of the season.
Rachael Koller and Sarah Thompson had one hit apiece for Concord as Stoffel allowed two hits. Caitlyn Bauer lasted just two-plus innings, taking the loss due to giving up four runs (all earned) on three hits and two walks.
Kaitlyn Rizor led the Bobcat offense with two hits and 4 RBI.
Andie Dizon had 3 RBI and
Morgan Norris added 1 RBI.
Kendall Stoffel pitched well once again, going five innings and allowing just two hits while striking out five.
Game 2
Back-to-back singles in the top of the 1
st put pressure on
Hannah Hudson early. She was able to keep CU scoreless, forcing a dribbler back to the mound. The Bobcats mirrored the Mountain Lions in the bottom half of the 1
st, putting two runners on with two outs but leaving with no runs. In the bottom of the 3
rd, Wesleyan used an error by the Concord defense to plate the game's first run.
Concord took the lead in the top of the 5
th after going down 1-2-3 in the 4
th. A deep drive to the warning track that was dropped allowed Concord to plate two runs as the runners were going with two outs. Wesleyan answered back immediately, putting up a four on the scoreboard in the bottom of the 5
th.
Morgan Norris hit a 2-run HR to dead center as the center fielder had the ball hit off her glove and sneak over the fence. A sac fly from
Alyssa Souders and a pinch hit RBI single by
Grace Smith made it 5-2.
The Mountain Lions trimmed the lead back down to two with a solo HR in the top of the 6
th.
Morgan Norris tripled in the bottom of the 6
th but the 'Cats weren't able to add any insurance.
Abigail O'Shields put the Mountain Lions down in order in the top of the 7
th, securing the 5-3 victory for Wesleyan.
Kylee Stacy had two hits for Concord as Rachael Koller finished with 2 RBI. Lorelai Ellerby also added an RBI for CU. Nancy-Jo Roberts went five innings, allowing five runs (three earned) on eight hits and one walk.
Morgan Norris was 3-3 with 2 RBI to lead the Bobcats.
Grace Smith,
Alyssa Souders and
Kiley Turner all put in 1 RBI each.
Hannah Hudson secured win number 16, going six innings with three runs (one earned) on six hits and eight strikeouts.
