BUCKHANNON, W.Va. – West Virginia Wesleyan Baseball continues MEC South Division play with a four-game series at home against Glenville State this weekend. The Pioneers have won the last six games of the series with the Bobcats as WVWC was last victorious in May of 2021 at home.

THE BOBCATS
Wesleyan enters (8-33) overall and (4-20) in MEC play. The Bobcats have lost seven in a row, including getting swept at Charleston last weekend in a four-game series.
Jack Tilton's .308 AVG now leads the team as well as his 11 doubles and 12 stolen bases.
Sam Ingram is batting.307 with a team-leading 43 hits and four triples.
Cole Shearer has 3 HR and
Devin Johnson's 24 RBI is first on the team. The pitching staff holds a Team ERA of 9.58 and a 2.11 Team WHIP.
GLENVILLE STATE PIONEERS
The Pioneers enter (19-23) overall and (12-12) in MEC play. GSU swept Davis & Elkins last weekend in a four-game set but fell to Salem on the road on Wednesday.
Fabian Escalante leads the Pioneer bats, hitting .336 with a 1.042 OPS, 40 hits, 12 doubles, 6 HR and 21 RBI. Carlos De Jesus is tied with Escalante at 21 RBI while adding 4 HR. Chase Swain (4-4, 3.99 ERA) and Diego Tamariz (5-3, 4.04 ERA) head the Glenville pitching staff with both starting nine games so far this season.
James Mullins is in his 10
th season leading the Pioneers. Last season, the Mullins led Pioneers appeared in the MEC Tournament Championship and finished 35-17 overall, just missing out on a bid in the NCAA Tournament. He also coached MEC Pitcher of the Year and NCBWA Third Team All-American Adam Riggleman and four All-MEC selections.
