BUCKHANNON, W.Va. – West Virginia Wesleyan Softball is back on the road this Friday and Saturday for doubleheaders with West Virginia State and the University of Charleston. The Yellow Jackets sit in 5
th place in the division but UC (12-1) is a .5 ahead of the Bobcats (12-2) in the divisional standings.

THE BOBCATS
Wesleyan enters (27-8) overall and (12-2) in MEC play, currently riding a seven-game winning streak. The Bobcats are coming off a Sunday-Tuesday haul where they swept doubleheaders against Notre Dame College, Alderson Broaddus and Salem.
After batting .571 with 3 HR and 8 RBI last week,
Morgan Norris is coming into this weekend's games on a hot streak. The sophomore from Gilbert, Ariz. is now hitting .364 with 36 hits, seven doubles, three triples, 6 HR and 32 RBI (T-5
th MEC) with a 1.121 OPS.
Taylor Swartz is second on the team in AVG (.320), OPS (.836), hits (32), triples (2) and RBI (20). The pitching staff just continues to get stronger as
Kendall Stoffel headlines the staff with a 13-1 record and 1.03 ERA.
Hannah Hudson (10-4, 1.33 ERA) and Abigail O"Shields (4-3, 2.83 ERA) complete the fierce rotation.
WEST VIRGINIA STATE YELLOW JACKETS
The Yellow Jackets enter (11-15) overall and (5-8) in MEC play. WVSU have lost three in a row, including getting swept in a doubleheader at Glenville State on Sunday.
Kasey Murphy has been on a tear all season for WV State, batting .413 (4
th MEC) with a 1.218 OPS and 33 hits, seven doubles, 7 HR and 32 RBI (T-5
th MEC). Emma Pauley has been another useful offensive weapon in the lineup, hitting .355 with 27 hits, 10 doubles, 2 HR and 16 RBI. Murphy also leads the Yellow Jackets in pitching, posting a 4.79 ERA, 6-6 record, 50 strikeouts and six complete games in 68.2 innings of work.
Mattie Best is in her 5
th season as the Head Coach of the WVSU Softball program. Best was the interim HC before being given the keys as the leader and prior to that, she spent three seasons as an assistant with the program. Best played collegiate softball at WVSU, where she is the all-time leader in doubles (67) and triples (13).
CHARLESTON GOLDEN EAGLES
The Golden Eagles enter (18-4) and (12-1) in MEC play. UC is also riding a seven-game winning streak entering the weekend with previously sweeping doubleheaders at Concord on Sunday and Glenville State on Tuesday.
Isabella Andujar is the power stick for the Golden Eagle offense, mashing a MEC-leading 11 HR so far this season with 34 RBI (2
nd MEC). Hannah Rose is 1
st in the MEC in AVG at .547 with 41 hits (2
nd MEC), 7 HR and 21 RBI. Danielle Bauer leads the UC rotation with a 5-2 record, 1.70 ERA in six starts this season.
Michelle Frew is in her 2
nd season leading the Golden Eagles. In her first year leading the program, Frew coached the program's first-ever NFCA First Team All-American and first-ever Conference Player of the Year. She comes from Florida Southwestern State and holds over 1,000 wins at the Division II level.
