Sunday @ Davis & Elkins at 1 & 3:30 p.m.
THE BOBCATS
Wesleyan enters (9-36) overall and (5-23) in MEC play after losing 3 out of 4 against Glenville State this past weekend.
Devin Johnson leads the Bobcat offense, hitting .311 with 2 HR and 28 RBI.
Sam Ingram has been another reliable bat in the lineup with a .303 AVG, 47 hits (leads team), four doubles, four triples (leads team) and 17 RBI. Ingram and
Jack Tilton have been active on the base paths this year, stealing a combined 24 bases.
Hunter Eplin is 2-6 with a 6.66 ERA and 39 strikeouts in nine starts this season.
DAVIS & ELKINS SENATORS
The Senators enter (8-38) overall and (7-21) in MEC play. D&E snapped an 18-game losing streak on Saturday when they defeated WV State in the last game of their four-game series, 4-1.
Davis & Elkins doesn't bring a lot of power to the plate, only hitting 3 HR as a team so far this season. However, they do excel in hitting for average as five batters are hitting over .300, led by Fletcher Hindman's .326 AVG. Connor Hyde has drove the most runs in with 23 RBI on the season. The pitching staff has struggled, posting a Team ERA of 9.96.
Brett Ripley is in his 1
st season leading the Senator Baseball program. Ripley previously served as Associate Head Coach at WVWC for seven seasons and was an assistant for five. In 2016, Ripley led the Bobcats to a 25-22 overall record as the interim HC. He played collegiately at Davis & Elkins where he was awarded Heart & Hustle Award as well as WVIAC Student-Athlete of the Year.
