Bobcats Find First MEC Victory Over Frostburg 88-71

Wesleyan picked up its second win of the season and first in 16 games with a breakout victory at Frostburg State University 88-71, Wednesday.
 
It had been brewing for many weeks as the Bobcats found themselves grinding out many chances that fell apart in short intervals in many of its games. Against Frostburg, all the pieces came together for 40 solid minutes. Wesleyan never trailed in the game and outrebounded the Frostburg Bobcats 39-23 as Jalen Canada led Wesleyan's effort with seven boards. Wesleyan kept the turnovers low (12) and five players scored in double digits.
 
Alex Mirhosseini returned to the court after a one-game break and scored a team-high 21 points, going 5-of-11 from the field and dropping 8-of-9 free throws. Deiker Padrino and Curtis Litton each added 14 points and both were perfect from the charity stripe. Padrino (currently third in scoring in the MEC ) made 7-of-7 and Litton was 6-of-6. Anthony Craven Jr. had 12 points and six rebounds. Maxwell Harris had 10 points and five rebounds.
 
Frostburg had the game's high scorer for the evening. Justin Roseme had 26 points while shooting 57 percent from the floor. Koby Baptiste scored 11 points.
 
Wesleyan hosts Davis and Elkins College Saturday, Jan. 27 for a 4 p.m. start in the Rockefeller Center.
