Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Bobcat Soccer Defense Gives Up Four in Second Half to Gannon

It's happened before this season. The Bobcat men's soccer program shows tremendous effort in one half of play but morphs into a second half performance that becomes a head-scratcher. That's the way it went against Gannon University, Wednesday, as the Golden Knights scored four in the second half to leave Culpepper Stadium with a 4-1 victory.

A controlled first half featured a shut out of Gannon's offense and another rocket shot and goal for Wesleyan sophomore forward Dillon Rajkovic who buried the point in the game's 21st minute.

But Gannon took over in the remaining 45 minutes. Per Kristian Lauvstad scored in the 59th minute, RJ Benedict scored in the 63rd minute (assist to Kristian Lauvstad), Gabriel Delin scored in the 71st minute, and Benedict scored his second goal of the match in the 81st minute (assist to Sverre Orten).

Wesleyan faces Point Park University on Homecoming Sunday, Oct. 13 at 1 p.m. The Bobcats defeated the Pioneers 3-0 in Pittsburgh in its first matchup in September.
