Cardinals Top Bobcats by 30 in Wheeling

Wheeling University never trailed Saturday as Cardinals basketball toppled conference rival West Virginia Wesleyan 95-65 in Wheeling.
 
Four Wheeling players scored in double digits. Starters William Gabbert and Tee Harris hit for 19 and 15 points, respectively, while bench players Caleb Murray and S.J. Hutchinson added 15 and 11 points.
 
The Cardinals were 50 percent from beyond the 3-point stripe, hitting 15-of-30 to the Bobcats' 5-of-17. Field goal percent overall favored the Cardinals 52 to 33.
 
Defensively, the Cardinals swept the boards nearly twice as much as the Bobcats, recording 47 rebounds to Wesleyan's 26.
 
The Bobcats were led by forward Curtis Litton with 12 points and two rebounds. Stephen Ovia added 11 points and three rebounds. Team points leader Alex Mirhosseini had nine points and two rebounds.
 
The Bobcats go on the road to Pittsburgh to play Point Park University Wednesday, Dec. 11 for an afternoon tip at 3 p.m.
