The Bobcat's Softball Team faced Slippery Rock for the second of three games during the PSAC vs. MEC Classic.
Victoria Wehrberger took the mound for Wesleyan. She pitched 1.2 innings and two unearned runs came to cross the plate. With two outs in the bottom of the 2nd, Slippery Rock collected a 2 RBI single that would put them up 2-0 going into the top of the 3rd. Wesleyan answered in the top of the 3rd as
Jenna Gomez hit an RBI double to bring in
Brooklyn Osburn.
Andie Dizon singled later in the inning to bring in another run tied up the score at 2-2, in the top of the 3rd inning.
Josi Fix came in for relief and put up 3.2 innings pitched only allowing 3 hits, no runs, and two strike outs. A questionable call in the top of the 6th happened when with two outs, runners on second and third,Â
Maya Reyes reached on an error and the runner from third came to the plate to score but was ruled out for not touching the plate. The score remained 2-2 going into the 7th. In the top of the 7th inning, Slippery Rock walked it off with a solo Home Run over center field to end the game 3-2.Â
The Bobcats are set to play IUP in the last game of the PSAC/MEC tournament.Â
