Softball Sweeps Glenville State on the Road

Glenville, W.Va- Wesleyan's softball team answered on the road picking up their first two conference wins. A come from behind victory in game one was thanks to a game tying grand slam in the 4th inning by freshman, Emma Jackson. Game two, the bobcats were tied 2-2 going into the 5th. The bats for Wesleyan brought across all 10 runs in the the 5th inning leading to a 8 run mercy rule. 

Game 1
Josi Fix would collect a win pitching 2.1 innings allowing 3 hits, 1 earned run, with 3 strikeouts. She would come in relief for Victoria Wehrberger who pitched 3 innings giving up 5 hits, 3 earned runs, and 2 strikeouts. Glenville would strike first in the 2nd inning with a solo home run to center field to make it 1-0. In the third, they would collect 3 more runs to take their lead to 4-0. In the bottom of the 4th, Emma Jackson would tie the game with a grand slam over the left field wall electrifying the Wesleyan dugout. Carlee Ianonne would hit a SAC fly to bring in Maya Reyes in the 6th to give the Bobcats the lead. Freshman, Sydney Leadbetter would RBI ground out to 3rd base to make it 6-4 going into the bottom of the 7th. Kendall Stoffel would secure the save pitching a perfect inning allowing no runs or hits and striking out 2 batters in the bottom of the 7th. 

Game 2: 
Kendall Stoffel would take the rubber for the Bobcats pitching 5 innings allowing 5 hits, 1 earned run, and 3 strikeouts. Glenville's offense would start the scoring with a 2 RBI single in the 3rd to take the lead 2-0. In the top of the 5th, the Bobcats would keep the lineup rolling with 10 runs coming across. Kendall Stoffel would start it off with a 2 RBI single to center field bringing across Brooklyn Osburn and Jenna Gomez to tie it up at 2-2. Emma Jackson would hit a 2 RBI double to make it 4-2. Grace Arnold and Jenna Gomez would each RBI single and Alyssa Rohr would follow with a 2 RBI single to mke it 8-2. Andie Dizon would lace a double into right field scoring Alyssa Rohr and Brooklyn Osburn to make it 10-2. 

The Bobcats will play at Concord Sunday, March 24th starting at 1:00pm.
