The softball team would get shutout both games of their double header against the Golden Eagles. The team would combine for 6 hits across the two games.
Game 1:
Victoria Wehrberger would get the loss pitching 2 innings allowing 5 hits, 5 runs, and 1 walk.
Kelsi Brown would pitch two-thirds of the third inning and give up 5 earned runs. Charleston would score first in the 2nd from a 2 RBI single. In the 3rd, the Golden Eagles would bring across 8 in the inning with 3 multi RBI hits including a 2-run home run to make it 0-10.
Emma Jackson,
Kendall Stoffel, and
Hallie Dinklocker would muster the only hits for the bobcats in game 1.
Game 2:
Kendall Stoffel would work on the rubber in game 2 in a close scoring ball game. She would pitch 6 innings allowing 7 hits, 2 earned runs, and collecting 5 strikeouts. The bats for the Bobcats would remain quite this game as the only runs to come and score came from an RBI ground-out in the 3rd inning and a solo home run in the 5th for the Golden Eagles to get up 0-2.
Wesleyan plays West Virginia State University away Sunday, April 21 for a double header.
