Shut Out of Point Park 3-0 Gets Bobcat Men Back on Winning Track

Wesleyan broke a 3-game losing streak with a 3-0 victory over Point Park University Wednesday in Pittsburgh.

The Bobcats got on the board at 38:42 with a strike by Chiedozi Ozo-Undeze after he received a 30-yard missile from Dajun Barthley. Barthley possessed at midfield and sent the assist to Ozo-Undeze on the right wing inside the 18 who belted the shot near post past Point Park keeper David Ali.

The Pioneers had a golden chance to tie the score 20 minutes into the second half when a hand ball was called on the Bobcats inside the box. Cheroky Briard tried the penalty shot but it hit the crossbar and bounced back into play where Bobcat keeper James Docherty smothered it.

In the final 10 minutes, Wesleyan added two goals to seal the match. In the 81st minute, Dillon Rajkovic took an assist from Hayden Dodd and crushed a devastating shot from 30 yards out to find the postage stamp corner beyond Ali's outstretched hand.

Finally, Casey Bunker buried a late penalty kick at 83:40 after Ozo-Undeze was taken down inside the penalty area.

Wesleyan's offense took 17 shots, eight on-goal, to Park's nine attempts (six on-goal).

Docherty had six saves in 90 minutes of work. Park's Ali saved five.

The Bobcats face conference foe Davis and Elkins College in the second half of a men's and women's doubleheader Sunday, Sept. 29. The women's match is slated for a 6 p.m. kickoff. The men go at 8 p.m.
