BUCKHANNON, W.Va. – The Bobcat men's soccer team wrapped up its 2025 campaign in victorious fashion Wednesday evening, earning a 2–1 victory over Davis & Elkins College at Culpepper Stadium. The Bobcats struck early and added a second-half goal to hold off a late charge from the Senators, finishing the season with a 4–11–3 overall record and a 3–9–2 mark in Mountain East Conference play
 
After an opening 30 minutes that featured several fouls and corner opportunities for Wesleyan, Chris Gonzalez broke through in the 33rd minute. The defender capitalized on a loose ball in the box to slot home the opener, putting Wesleyan ahead 1–0
 
Goalkeeper Matteo Marciani came up with an important save minutes later to preserve the lead as the Bobcats took their one-goal advantage into halftime.
 
Wesleyan doubled its advantage shortly after the restart when senior Blair Sinclair notched his first goal as a Bobcat in the 49th minute, finishing calmly on a curler that moved right to left and found the upper ninety to make it 2–0.
 
The Bobcats' defensive shape held firm for most of the second half, as Marciani and the backline—anchored by Vito Stanic, Roneba Cordice, and Noel Ellis—repelled multiple Davis & Elkins advances
 
Davis & Elkins narrowed the margin in the 67th minute on a goal from TraBi Diakite, who came off the bench to convert after a corner sequence. The Senators pressed for an equalizer late, including a shot off the crossbar in the 84th minute, but the Bobcats stayed composed to secure the win
 
The Senators outshot Wesleyan 11–5 and held a 4–3 advantage in corner kicks. Marciani collected three saves in goal, while his counterpart Charlie Phillips registered one for D&E. The Bobcats received yellow cards from Stanic, Hayden Dodd, and Sante Klosterman during the physical contest
 
The victory capped a resilient close to the 2025 season for head coach Glenn Francis whose Bobcats showed fight down the stretch and produced key contributions from underclassmen and transfers like Gonzalez and Sinclair.
Wesleyan's most-goals and most-assists crowns in the 2025 season went to Casey Bunker who scored 4 goals, 3 assists and ended with 11 points.
 
Marciani managed the net in 14 games and came away with 52 saves for a 2.25 goals-against-average.
