Softball Loses Close One Run Game

Sioux Falls 3, West Virginia Wesleyan 2

Sioux Falls rallied late to defeat West Virginia Wesleyan 3-2 in a hard-fought contest. The game was a pitcher's duel, with both teams battling for control until the final inning.

Scoring Summary:

  • 6th Inning: West Virginia Wesleyan broke the deadlock when Lynzee Hague singled down the right-field line, driving in Brooklyn Osburn to give WV Wesleyan a 1-0 lead.
  • 7th Inning: Sioux Falls quickly responded in the bottom of the 7th. Amber McKinney's sacrifice fly to left tied the game at 1-1, bringing Addison Heule home. Meghan Jochimsen then delivered a clutch single to center, scoring Bri Lawver (who advanced on a wild pitch), giving Sioux Falls a 2-1 lead.
