Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

Frostburg Tops Wesleyan at Home 23–2

Buckhannon, W.Va. – Frostburg State women's lacrosse delivered a commanding performance on Wednesday afternoon, and West Virginia Wesleyan fell 23–2 in a conference matchup.

Frostburg wasted no time getting on the board, with Natalie Williams converting a feed from Neila Haney just 58 seconds into the game. That set the tone for a 9-goal first quarter, led by Haney herself, who tallied four goals and three assists in the contest.

The second quarter was more of the same, as Camden DeMaio and Daniella Boss each dished out multiple assists, and Brittyn Leonard found the net en route to her hat trick. By halftime, Frostburg held a 17–0 lead, outshooting Wesleyan 33–3 and converting on all their clear attempts.

West Virginia Wesleyan struggled to maintain possession. The Bobcats failed on 9 of their 14 clear attempts and didn't score until the third quarter, when freshman Nyah Elmer broke through with two goals, one of them coming on a man-up opportunity.

Ella Gomez was strong in the net for Wesleyan, stopping 22 shots while serving 45 minutes in the net.
