Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Bobcats Fall to Charleston, 2–0, at Culpepper Stadium

The Bobcats' men's soccer team came up short against the University of Charleston, falling 2–0 Sunday afternoon at Culpepper Stadium.

Charleston, who entered unbeaten at 6-0-2, wasted little time establishing control. In the sixth minute, Allan Logrillo finished a feed from Tomas Muller to open the scoring. Less than ten minutes later, Martin Echarren doubled the advantage, converting on a setup from Leonardo Dutra in the 15th minute

Despite the early deficit, Wesleyan regrouped defensively. The Bobcats limited Charleston to four shots in the second half and kept the Golden Eagles scoreless the rest of the way

Wesleyan goalkeeper Matteo Marciani stood tall under pressure, recording four saves on the night, including key stops on Logrillo and Tomas Petrungaro to keep Wesleyan within striking distance

Offensively, the Bobcats managed two shots, both in the second half. Senior midfielder Henry Coster nearly cut the deficit in the 47th minute, striking the crossbar on Wesleyan's best scoring opportunity of the match. Defender Moises Moncada added the only other registered attempt in the 67th minute

Wesleyan hosts a non-conference match against Salem University on Wednesday, Oct. 1 at 7:30 p.m.
