Bobcats Power Past Salem, 91-75

BUCKHANNON, W.Va. — West Virginia Wesleyan used a strong close to the first half and an explosive second-half performance to roll past Salem University, 91-75, Wednesday night inside the Rockefeller Center in Buckhannon. The Bobcats shot nearly 49 percent from the floor and knocked down 13 three-pointers as they pulled away after halftime to secure the 16-point victory.
 
Wesleyan led 41-32 at the break and turned the game into a runaway with a 50-point second half, shooting 56.8 percent over the final 20 minutes.
 
The Bobcats received a team-high 23 points from Adrijus Janciauskas, who connected on 8-of-17 from the field and buried 3-of-8 from long range while adding three assists.
 
Isaiah Baker followed with 17 points, hitting 7-of-15 overall and 3-of-7 from three, while also grabbing seven rebounds and dishing out four assists.
 
Curtis Litton added 15 points and knocked down 2-of-11 from beyond the arc, while contributing six rebounds, three assists, and two steals in 34 minutes.
 
In the paint and on the glass, Jaden Westfall delivered 12 points, 13 rebounds, and five assists, going 5-of-8 from the floor and 2-of-3 from three-point range.
 
Wesleyan also got solid production from its bench, led by Nick Davis with 10 points on 4-of-6 shooting. Tristin Harkins chipped in seven points and a game-high five steals, helping the Bobcats fuel their transition attack with takeaways and deflections.
 
The Bobcats forced Salem into 20 turnovers and turned those miscues into 24 points off turnovers, consistently pushing the pace and capitalizing on run-outs. Wesleyan also posted 15 fast break points, repeatedly converting defensive stops into quick points on the other end.
 
Wesleyan finished the night shooting 36-of-74 (48.6%) overall and 13-of-38 (34.2%) from three-point range, while also tallying 21 assists on 36 made field goals.
 
Salem was led by Eman Lawal with a game-high 25 points and 10 rebounds, while Zahki Fallen scored 15 points and Xavier Price added 14 points and seven rebounds in the loss.
 
Wesleyan travels to Point Park University (Pa.) on Friday, Jan. 30. Tip is 7:30 p.m.
