BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – The Mountain East Conference has announced the winners of this week's Male and Female Tennis Player of the Week awards. The MEC Player of the Week awards are presented by The Health Plan.
West Virginia Wesleyan's
Felipe Mioch has been named the MEC Men's Tennis Player of the Week while Frostburg State's Alyssa Kush has been named the MEC Women's Tennis Player of the Week for the third consecutive week
Mioch, a freshman from the Netherlands, helped the Bobcats defeat Francis Marion and Belmont Abbey. Mioch, defeated Miguel Maia (7-3) at No. 1 and then him and
Jheng Huang won at the No. 1 doubles against Francis Marion. Then at No. 1 single he defeated Kristian Bilojelic, 6-3, 6-1. While and the No. 1 double he and Huang won 6-1against Belmont Abbey.
Kush, a senior from Johnstown, Pennsylvania, she had a pair of wins in leading the team to a 7-0 sweep of Kutztown. Took a 6-1 win at No. 1 doubles, then secured a 6-1, 6-0 victory at No. 4 singles.
