BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – The Mountain East Conference has announced the winners of this week's Male and Female Tennis Player of the Week awards. The MEC Player of the Week awards are presented by The Health Plan.
 
West Virginia Wesleyan's Felipe Mioch has been named the MEC Men's Tennis Player of the Week while fellow Bobcat Dominique Jansen van Vuuren has been named the MEC Women's Tennis Player of the Week.
 
Mioch, a freshman from the Netherlands, went undefeated in both #1 singles and double over three matches. In a 6-1 win against Salem, Felipe Mioch defeated Simon Braeuning 6-1, 6-3 and then in doubles Mioch / Huang defeated Braeuning / Jose Cobo 6-1. In a 7-0 win against Frostburg State, Felipe Mioch defeated Cole Alcala 7-6, 6-3 and then in doubles ioch / Huang defeated Alcala / Diaz 7-6. And then in a 7-0 win over West Liberty, Felipe Mioch defeated Pablo Zubieta 6-0, 6-0 and in doubles Mioch / Huang defeated Zubieta / Shepard 6-1.
