Buckhannon W. Va- West Virginia Wesleyan College Athletics announce Zontavius Johnson as the new Head Cross Country and Track & Field Coach.
Coach Johnson has over twenty years of experience in coaching, as both a head coach and also as an assistant. He was named consecutive NAIA Women's Indoor Assistant Coach of the Year in his time at Olivet Nazarene University. He was the Head Coach for Benedictine University for eight years where he focused on sprints and hurdles.
Vice President of Intercollegiate Athletics Kyle Hoffman when asked about the new hire "I am very excited to welcome Coach Johnson to West Virginia Wesleyan. He comes from a decorated track family and his experience as a former head coach and with the Junior Olympics will be a great asset to our athletes. We look forward to welcoming him to the Buckhannon community"
Coach Johnson arrived on campus earlier this week and was able to sit down and talk about the expectations for the program, "Happy to get the opportunity to be the coach here at West Virginia Wesleyan. Excited to get to work with all of our athletes across our three seasons and want to bring championships to our home among the hills."
