Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men's Soccer Holds Off D&E 1-0

Buckhannon,WV-- The West Virginia Wesleyan College Men's Soccer team would take on the Davis & Elkins Senators this Thursday night. The Bobcats come into tonight's match with a 4-2-1 overall record and a 3-1-1 conference record. The Senators come in with a 2-3 overall record and a 1-3 Conference record.

The first half would be quiet match as both team would only put up a few shots, as the defense would be a factor. 

The second half would the Bobcats would strike the only goal of the match in the 60th minute. Lauri Vasa would deliver a cross to Nika Monaselidze as he strikes it in the back of the net as the Bobcats would take a 1-0 lead. 

With about 20 minutes left in the half the Bobcats Forward Ryan Fisher would receive a red card. The Bobcats would have to play a man down the rest of the game. The game would get intense as both teams would pick up two yellow cards.

Both teams would put up 7 shots in the second half, but the Bobcats defense would be able to hold off Davis & Elkins 1-0. 

Nika Monaselidze would have the only goal of the night, his first goal of the 2019 season. 

The Bobcats will be back in action Wednesday at Frostburg State University for a 7:00pm start time.
