Buckhannon, WV --Â Former West Virginia Wesleyan guard
Luka Petrovic officially signed a professional contract with KK Tamis Pancevo in Serbia. Tamis plays in the Basketball League of Serbia or KLS. Last season, Tamis finished 11th in the KLS at 10-16 overall.
In four seasons for the Bobcats, Petrovic averaged 7.4 points per game, including a career-best 14.0 points a contest during the 2019-20 campaign. The Serbia native made an average of 5.24 three-pointers per game last season and started all 30 games for Wesleyan.
Petrovic is the third WVWC basketball player from the class of 2020 to sign professionally joining
Marcus Larsson '20 (Wetterbygden in Sweden) and
Dusan Vicentic '20 (Handlova in Slovakia).
"It's a testament for their passion towards the game," head men's basketball coach
Nick Patella said. "We are very happy for Marcus, Dusan and most recently Luka to have the opportunity to continue their playing career at a professional level. We wish all of our Bobcats a long-tenured career with success on and off the basketball court. They will always have a place to come back to and we look forward to following their careers."
