On another edition of On This Day, West Virginia Wesleyan Athletics highlights the hiring of head swimming coach

Randy Tenney tabbed Brumley to be the next head coach of the Bobcats on September 9, 2019.
Brumley, a former student-athlete at West Virginia Wesleyan, was a member of the men's swim & dive team from 2011-2015 under then-head coach April Gitzen.
During his coaching career, Brumley worked with the student-athletes at Buckhannon-Upshur High School, where he also assisted the track program.
"I am thankful to West Virginia Wesleyan College for allowing me to continue to build this program," Brumley said after he was hired. "I look forward to meeting the athletes and helping them pursue their goals."Â
During the 19-20 campaign, the 'Cats brought back 18 All-MEC selections between the men and women on their return from the MEC/GMAC championships. The women finished
5-1 with a 2-1 conference record, second at the Corbiere-Merion Invitation, and sixth at the MEC/GMAC championships. The men ended 3-3 and 2-1 in the conference while placing third as a team at the Malone Invite and Corbiere-Merion Invitational.
Brumley saw the emergence of
Arthur Assfeld, who secured several accolades throughout the year, highlighted by first-team All-MEC honors.
Brumley graduated with honors from WVWC in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science. Immediately after graduation, Brumley started participating in triathlons regularly and even earned a professional license in triathlon.Â
