CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- The West Virginia Wesleyan (4-4-0) men's soccer team lost its regular season finale to No.1 Charleston Golden Eagles, 5-0 on Sunday (April 18).
 
Freshman goalkeeper 
Logan Nelson made three saves on Golden Eagle scoring attempts within the first 24 minutes of the first half.
 
Charleston would not be denied any longer as the Golden Eagles scored two goals in quick succession in the 27th and 28th minute.
 
One minute later, 
Tanner Amos tried to trim the deficit, but Charleston keeper Marc Torrado registered his only save of the match to deny Amos' chance.
 
Gabriel Rodriguez gave Charleston a three-goal lead in the 39th minute when he scored his second goal of the match off of a pair of assists from James Raptis and Alexis Ledoux.
 
Charleston added two more goals in the second half from Emil Rasmussen and Eduardo Barros to round out the scoring.
 
WVWC men's soccer has a rematch with Charleston on the road in the opening round of the Mountain East Conference tournament on Wednesday, April 21.
