WEST LIBERTY, W.Va.-- West Virginia Wesleyan men's soccer (4-2-0, 3-2-0) fell to West Liberty (3-4-0, 2-4-0) on Saturday (Sept.25) 1-0.
Â
The lone goal of the match came from Bernardo Vilchis's penalty kick in the 32nd minute. Liam Toman's shot hit the hand of a Bobcat defender inside the penalty area leading to the eventual penalty conversion. WVWC outshot the Hilltoppers 5-3 in the first half but could not convert the opportunities.
Â
In the second half, both teams were held scoreless, thanks in part to the effort from Wesleyan keeper
Logan Nelson. Nelson made four saves in the half, keeping the deficit to one.
Â
The Bobcats are back in action Wednesday (Sept.29) against nationally-ranked Davis & Elkins in Elkins, W.Va.
