Swimming Preview: Davis & Elkins

The Bobcats hit the pool for the first time since November 21st.

The Basics
 
The West Virginia Wesleyan men's and women's swimming team will travel to Davis & Elkins for a dual meet on Saturday (Jan. 8). The meet is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
 
Last Time in the Pool
 
Both teams competed in the Malone Invitational in November where the WVWC men finished in fourth place with 321 points while the women's team wrapped up third place at 645 points.
 
The women's 200-medley relay squad of Amanda Schlor, Jennifer Williams, Zeinah Abdelsalam and Hannah Cook took third at the Malone Invitational with a time of 1:58.72.
 
Morgan Choffin finished in third place during the 500-free with a time of 5:26.37. In the men's 500-free, Jakob Bohland touched the wall in 5:25.60 for 10th place.
 
Alienor Dalle earned first in the women's 100-fly with a time of 1:00.51 while Zeinah Abdelsalam came in 10th at 1:06.27.
 
Jennifer Williams claimed third in the 100-breast while collecting a time of 1:13.75. Ben Esposito finished the men's 100-breast in 1:03.99 for fifth place. Choffin (2:03.44), Archer (2:06.51) and Morgan Bennet (2:10.84).
 
Senior Marc Bennett notched a top-10 performance in the men's 200-free after a time of 1:55.13. Wesleyan competed extremely well in the women's 100-back with Schlor (1:03.75), Crane (1:04.14) and Cook (1:04.32) finishing in places 2-4. In the men's 100-back, Devanand Kuttan touched the wall in 58.83 for 10th place.
 
The WVWC women's 400-free (Dalle, Bennet, Cook and Choffin) took second place with a time of 3:49.76. Santiago De Stefano Cazavos, Kuttan, Bennett, Bohland registered a time of 3:28.25 in the men's 400-free. The women's 400-medley relay of Schlor, Williams, Abdelsalam and Choffin also took second with a 4:15.78 performance.
 
Choffin was victorious in the 200-IM at 2:18.09 with Cook (2:20.20) and Schlor (2:22.07) rounding out the top-5. Bennet collected another top-10 finish in the 200-IM with a time of 2:08.97. De Stefano Cavazos (2:10.48) and Stephen Groves (2:30.40) battled in the men's 200-fly.
 
Schlor recorded another impressive time of 2:16.60 for second in the women's 200-back with Crane (2:18.36) right behind her in third place. Williams (2:50.54) and Esposito (2:19.96) picked up top-5 finishes in the 200-breast.
 
Another women's relay team took second place in the 800-free after Cook, Dalle, Crane and Choffin combined for a time of 8:19.23 while Dalle, Abdelsalam, Bennet and Crane put together a 1:45.67 performance for second in the women's 200-free.
 
Schlor won the women's 400-IM by eclipsing five minutes at 4:59.30 and Cook grabbed second place with a time of 5:03.80. In the springs, Dalle snagged fourth place (26.14) in the women's 50-free while Bennett (22.75) and Bohland (23.01) both racked up top-10 finishes for the men.

The Bobcats will return home on Jan. 14. for a meet versus Frostburg State at 6 p.m.
