Swimming Preview: Malone

Bobcats look to have another successful weekend at home.

The Basics

The West Virginia Wesleyan men's and women's swimming teams prepare to host Malone on Friday (Nov. 4) at 5 p.m. 

Last Time in the Pool

Last time out, the Bobcats hosted Bethany in which strong performances from both teams led them to an overall victory with the men's team winning 104-71 and women's team winning 184-40. On the women's side, Jennifer Williams had notable performances in the 50 yard breaststroke coming in first with a time of 38.85 and coming in first again in the 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 1:20.56. On the men's side, Jack Gutekunst came in first place in the 100 yard fly at 59.09 and first in the 100 yard IM with a time of 58.71. 

Scouting Malone

The Pioneers from Malone are coming to Buckhannon following a defeat versus The College of Wooster. The men's team lost 33-167 and the women were defeated 27-175. Despite the results, male swimmer Noah Budd was named the Great Midwest Men's Swimming Athlete of the Week after his individual performance in the Pioneers' dual meet against The College of Wooster over the past weekend.

The Bobcats will remain home on Saturday (Nov. 12) for a meet versus Franciscan at 1 p.m.
