The Basics
The West Virginia Wesleyan women's basketball team will open the season on the road versus Kentucky State on Friday (Nov. 11). The game is slated to be played at Campbellsville University and will begin at 5:30 p.m.

- Akalah Jackson, Caitlyn Sullivan, Kenley Kveton, M`laya Ainsworth, Alani Murray, Jasmine Tabor, Samiah Lynch, and Emma Witt all joined WVWC this offseason. Witt is a freshman from Staunton, Va., where she averaged 30.9 points per game and 13 rebounds per game throughout her high school career.
- Brett Vincent is entering his 2nd season as coach of the Bobcats.Â
Scouting Kentucky State
The Thorobreds posted a 9-15 overall record during the 2021-22 season. Laurie Thomas returns to the hardwood for Kentucky State. Thomas led the Thorobreds averaging 12 points per game and 7.6 rebounds per game. Hilani Cantone returns for her junior season after averaging 9.4 points per game as a sophomore.Â
Terrance Slater is entering his sixth season as the head women`s basketball coach at Kentucky State University.
