BUCKHANNON, W.Va. – West Virginia Wesleyan Men's Basketball hosts Frostburg State on Wednesday night inside the Rockefeller Center at 7:30 p.m. The two teams are involved in a three-way tie for 10
th place in the MEC, the last spot to have a bid in the MEC Tournament. FSU won the meeting earlier in the year 60-59 in Frostburg.
FROSTBURG STATE BOBCATS
Frostburg State enters (5-11) overall and (1-9) in MEC play. The Bobcats last played on Saturday, losing to Wheeling 83-78 at home to bring their losing streak to four.
FSU ranks 11
th in the MEC in Scoring Defense (87.1 AVG/G) and last in 3-Point FGs Made (4.4 AVG/G). Frostburg doesn't rank in the Top-5 in any statistical category.
Tairell Fletcher is the 5
th leading scorer in the MEC, averaging 18.6 PPG. Fletcher was held to just five points on 2-8 shooting from the field in the last meeting with Wesleyan. NJIT transfer Jason Murphy averages a near double-double, putting together 14.9 PPG and 8.5 RPG. Murphy also ranks 3
rd in the MEC in FG% (60%).
Sean Brown Sr. is in his 5
th season as the Head Coach at FSU. Brown has won 10 games in two of his five seasons at Frostburg. He previously served as the Head Coach at NCAA Division III Pitt-Bradford for three seasons.
WEST VIRGINIA WESLEYAN BOBCATS
Wesleyan enters (1-13) overall and (1-9) in MEC play. The Bobcats dropped their last game to Glenville State on the road 100-53.
WVWC stays active on the offensive boards, grabbing 10.7 per game which is 6
th in the conference. Wesleyan ranks 5
th in steals, racking up 8.3 per contest.
Darius Green leads the Bobcats in PPG (16.7), RPG (6.6) and APG (2.0). Green's 16.7 PPG ranks him 8
th in the Mountain East.
Tyler Slone is second on the team in scoring, averaging 12.2 PPG.
