Four Bobcats Claim MEC All-Conference Awards

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. — The Mountain East Conference announced the 2025 Volleyball individual award-winners and all-conference teams on Wednesday afternoon. The top honors and All-MEC teams were chosen by a vote of league head coaches.

The 2025 MEC Player of the Year is Joey Borelle of Fairmont State. The senior from Norton, Ohio, enters this week's MEC Tournament leading the league in kills, kills per set, points, and points per set. A two-time MEC Offensive Player of the Week this season, Borelle is tied for No. 29 nationally in kills per set, ranks eighth in the MEC in digs per set, and her 19 kills in three sets against Texas A&M International were tops in the league this season.

The 2025 MEC Libero of the Year is Josie Skinn, also of Fairmont State. The senior from Norwalk, Ohio, is a two-time MEC Defensive Player of the Week this season who helped lead the Falcons to a share of the MEC North Division title. Skinn enters tournament play averaging 5.54 digs per set, which leads the MEC and is ranked No. 11 nationally. She recorded 40 digs in a match against West Virginia State, the top performance in that category this season.

The 2025 MEC Freshman of the Year is Camryn Matus of Wheeling. The native of Brunswick, Ohio, made an immediate impact on the Cardinals, leading the team in sets played (103) while starting all 29 matches. Matus captured an MEC Offensive Player of the Week honor this season, and recorded team highs in points (347), points per set (3.37), kills (287), kills per set (2.79), and service aces (24).
