BUCKHANNON, W.Va. – West Virginia Wesleyan College has made a leadership change in its women's lacrosse program, announcing a national search for a new head coach.
Given the timing within the semester, the team will suspend competition until the 2026-2027 academic year with a focus on recruitment growth and support for current players during that time.
Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletes Kyle Hoffman MBA '06 said, "After numerous meetings with our student-athletes, it became clear that we did not have the level of participation needed to complete the 2026 season. While we know this was a difficult decision to make, we continue to prioritize the health and safety of our student-athletes first. We look forward to competing again in 2027."
