The Basics
After Fairmont State women's basketball paused team activities on Wednesday (Jan. 6), the game against the Falcons scheduled for Jan. 7 has been postponed. The Mountain East Conference is working with the institutions involved to reschedule the game for a later date. West Virginia Wesleyan women's basketball is now scheduled to tip off the 2020-21 season on Sunday (Jan. 10) at Frostburg State at 2 p.m.Â
The West Virginia Wesleyan College Athletics Department in conjunction with the Mountain East Conference, University, local and state officials, has determined that home basketball games will begin the season with a no spectator policy. The no spectator policy will be followed at each of the 12 Mountain East Conference institutions. The conference's Board of Directors will evaluate the no spectator policy no earlier than January 19, 2021. If changes to the policy are approved later this month, the Athletics Department will provide an update at that time.
