Men's Soccer Preview: Notre Dame (Ohio) & West Liberty

The Bobcats return to Buckhannon for a pair of home matches.

The Basics

The West Virginia Wesleyan men's soccer team host two Mountain East Conference matches this week as they welcome Notre Dame (Ohio) to Buckhannon on Wednesday (Oct. 27) for a 4 p.m. kick off before playing host to West Liberty on Sunday (Oct. 31) at 7 p.m.

Quick Hits

·        The Bobcats traveled to Wheeling on Wednesday (Oct. 20) and picked up a point in a 1-1 draw before leaving Charleston with a defeat.

·        Javier De Ona Garcia scored the equalizer against Wheeling from a deft Chris Irakoze assist.

·        Goalkeeper Logan Nelson has three clean sheets to his name this season.

·        Tanner Amos scored his fourth goal of the season at Charleston to move to second on the Wesleyan scoring chart.

·        Lanre Abayomi made his Bobcats debut against Charleston on Sunday (Oct. 24).

Scouting Notre Dame (Ohio)

The Falcons enter the matchup after a 4-0 victory at home against Frostburg State. Notre Dame (Ohio) owns an overall record of 7-3-2.

Ned Dry has 10 goals and four assists to his name, including a hat trick against Wheeling.

Carl Nolan is in his sixth season at the helm of the NDC men's soccer program.

Scouting West Liberty

The Hilltoppers beat Concord 2-0 last time out and currently sit at 5-8-0 in conference play (6-9-0 overall).

Bernardo Vilchis has a team-high six goals so far this season.

Sean Regan is in his third season on the Hilltop.

Fixture History

In the reverse fixture in Ohio against Notre Dame, the Bobcats clawed back from two goals down to draw 2-2 thanks to goals from Nika Monaselidze and Charlie Naylor.

Back in September, the Bobcats traveled to West Liberty and lost 1-0.

Next up for the Bobcats is their final road trip of the season at Frostburg State for another battle of the Bobcats on Wednesday (Nov. 3) at 7 p.m.
