The Basics
The West Virginia Wesleyan men's and women's swimming teams travel to Fairmont State on Saturday (March 13) for a meet beginning at 1 p.m.

• Senior
Michael McAlpine was selected as the Mountain East Conference Men's Swimmer of the Week, the league announced on Monday (Feb. 15). This is the second time that Assfeld has won the award in his WVWC swimming career.

Kay Lange was selected as the Mountain East Conference Women's Swimmer of the Week, the league announced on Monday (Feb. 15).
• Senior
Arthur Assfeld was selected as the Mountain East Conference Men's Swimmer of the Week, the league announced on Monday (Feb. 8). This is the seventh time that Assfeld has won the award in his WVWC swimming career.
• Junior
Marc Bennett earned 2020 MEC First Team honors in the 200-IM as well as conference Second Team honors in the 400-IM last season.
• Sophomore
Amanda Schlor garnered MEC First Team honors last season in the 100-Backstroke and 200-Backstroke.
• Head coach
Adam Brumley is in his second season as the head coach of his alma mater.
Last Time in the Pool
The West Virginia Wesleyan swimming programs were back in action on Saturday (March 6) for their first away meet of the season at Frostburg State. The Bobcat women's swimming team had a strong showing topping FSU by a score of 161-93 while the men's squad lost 165-93.
On the women's side, sophomore
Amanda Schlor and senior
Kay Lange dominated the entire meet, winning three individual races and one relay. Schlor, Lange,
Alyssa Serrano and
Lillie Archer's relay opened with meet with a victory in the 400-medley relay.
Lange started her individual day by winning the 800-free (10:15.74) by 11 seconds. After a break, Lange came back and won back-to-back events to conclude her day. Lange won the 200-breast (2:57.66) and edged out teammate
Morgan Choffin by eight-tenths of a second in the 400-free (4:55.42).
Schlor's dominant outing started when she won the 100-breast, touching the wall in 1:12.57. Schlor followed that up with a victory in the 200-back (2:37.22). Finally, Schlor ended her impressive performance with a win in the 200-IM (2:44.27).
Morgan Choffin won two events in the afternoon. The Rocklin, Calif., native took home wins in the 200-free (2:19.14) and 100-free (1:04.71). Serrano and
Alienor Dalle also had strong performances, each taking home victories.
The Wesleyan men claimed two event victories.
Arthur Assfeld continued his illustrious career by adding two more wins to his resumé. The senior from Toul, France won the 100-back (1:01.49) and 50-free in which he finished with a time of 24:21 to win sprint by over a second.
